CLASS ATTIRE AND DRESS CODES


• A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.
  HAIR SHOULD BE IN A BUN FOR ALL BALLET CLASSES
• Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture,

  alignment, etc.
• Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.
• Jewelry must not be loose or dangling.
• Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking and appearance.
• No loose fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts (they are not dance attire).
• No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the individual teacher.
• Adults may wear comfortable work-out attire for class.
• Pajama bottoms sweat pants, and boxers are never allowed.
• Some of the classes require a black leotard. Check the dress code for your specific class.
• THE TEACHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ASK A STUDENT TO SIT OUT THE CLASS IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY ATTIRED,
   BOTH THE CLOTHING AND THE HAIR.

Pre-Ballet/Creative Movement
Girls: Any color leotard and pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes, dance skirts are allowed. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLACK LEOTARD IN YOUR WARDROBE AS YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WEAR BLACK IN THE RECITAL.
Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black leather ballet shoes.

Classical Ballet Attire
Girls Teen/Adult: Any primary color leotard, pink tights and pink canvas or leather ballet slippers. Short dance skirts are allowed. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLACK LEOTARD IN YOUR WARDROBE AS YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WEAR BLACK IN THE RECITAL.
Boys/Men: Black tights or dance pants, black or white solid color T-shirt, and black leather ballet slippers

Hip Hop Attire
Girls Teen/Adults: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black jazz sneakers.
Boys/Men: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz sneakers.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs. Blue jeans are not allowed.

Jazz Attire
Girls Teen/Adults: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black jazz shoes. Must have a black leotard  and black jazz pants.
Boys/Men: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs.

Lyrical Attire
Girls: Any primary solid color leotard and footless or transitional tights. Jazz pants or dance skirts are allowed.
Boys/Men: Black dance pants, any solid color T-shirt.
Students dance in bare feet.

Modern Attire
Girls: Any primarily solid color leotard and footless or transitional tights. Black jazz pants and black leggings are allowed.

Tap
Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black tap shoes, dance skirts are allowed.
Boys/Men:  Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black tap shoes.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs. Blue jeans are not allowed.

Music Theater
Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, any color tights or black jazz pants, black character shoes, or black jazz shoes.
Short dance skirts are allowed.
Boys: Any color shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black leather ballet shoes or black jazz shoes.
